Helen LaScalea

Helen LaScalea, age 91, formerly of Coaldale, PA died Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at Maple Shade Meadows in Nesquehoning, Pa with her loving sister Sophia, her neice Traci, and her grandniece Kelly by her side.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Calaresu and the late Dr. Ceasear LaScalea.
Born in Barren Island, NY, she was the Daughter of the late Walter & Celia (Matucavage) Sachon.
Helen was a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Techology NYC. She worked as a fashion designer for Lehigh Frocks in NYC for over 30 years,after retiring Helen opened a Health Food Store in Lakewood, NJ.
She was a member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church in Coaldale, PA where she was also a member of the choir.
Survivors:
Sister: Sophia Povalac wife of the late Michael "Mez" Povalac of Coaldale, Pa.
11 Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents,husbands, Sisters: Mildred Demienenco and Olga Pantella and Brothers: Peter Sachon and Nicholas Sachon.
Private Funeral Services at the convenience of the family.
Contributions in her name may be made to the Coaldale Rescue Squad.

Estelle Derlunas Obituary

Mrs. Estelle M. (Guziewicz) Derlunas, age 94, of 121 East High Street Coaldale, Pa., died Friday, September 15, 2006, at St. Lukes Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale, Pa. Mrs. Derlunas was employed by Coaldale State Hospital and was a member of St. John the Baptist Lithuanian Church, Coaldale.

She was the daughter of the late Ignacy Guziewicz and the late Victoria (Sobolesky) Guziewicz.

She is also survived by her

Two Daughters Barbara, wife of Ed Demyanovich of Bethlehem, Pa.

Patricia Ann, wife of Bob Zawarski of Coaldale, Pa.

Four Sons,

Anthony M. Derlunas & wife, Pat of Joppa, Md.

Joseph A. Derlunas of Baltimore, Md.

Stanley I. Derlunas & wife, Carolyn of Baltimore, Md.

Robert F. Derlunas & wife, Anne of Coaldale, Pa.

Twelve grandchildren Ten great-grandchildren One great-great-grandchild

Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 11am at St. John's Lithuanian Catholic Church in Coaldale, PA.

Interment at SS. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Owl Creek.

Lester Oswald Obit

Mr. Lester M. Oswald, age 86, of New Ringgold, Pa., died Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at Gnaden Huetten Nursing Home in Lehighton, Pa.
He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church of New Ringgold, Pa. Lester owned and operated for 25 years, Lesters Flower Shop & Green Houses of Orwigsburg, and New Ringgold, Pa.
He was the son of the late Oscar Oswald and Mildred (Shellhamer) Oswald.
Preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Mae L . (Grube) Oswald, July 9, 1994; Son Marlin, 1966; Brothers, Richard and John Oswald.
Survived by Two Daughters, Mrs. Jane (Oswald) Miller of New Ringgold, and Mrs. Carol Ann (Oswald) wife of George Bruchko of Pooler GA.
One Son, Mrs. Gerald Oswald & wife Dawn of Lancaster
Two Sisters:
Mrs. Phyliss (Oswald) Middlecamp of New Ringgold, Pa.

Funeral service will be at 3 o'clock PM from the funeral home with the Rev. Jennifer Oaks officiating.
Interment will be at Friedens Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Ringgold, Pa.

Mrs. Martha (Perla) Stiuso, age 87, of Coaldale, Pa., died Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at Weatherwood Carbon County Nursing Home, Weatherly, Pa.
A member of SS. Cyril & Methodius R.C.C. Coaldale Pa., Martha owned and operated Jerry's Restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale Fl.
She was the daughter of John Perla and the late Agatha (Petrus) Perla.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Jerome Stiuso;Brother, John J. Perla; Sisters Anna (Perla) Schuck and Agatha (Perla) Katulka
One Daughter, Mrs. Marie Selneck of Union, NJ. and two grandchildren survive her.

David W. Dotson Obit

Mr. David W. Dotson, age 54, of 399 Golf Road Tamaqua, Pa., died Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at Lehigh Valley Hospice in allentown, Pa. He was the husband of Marie S. (Saloky) Dotson and they were married for 29 years.
Mr. Dotson was employed by Bowe Bell & Howell Electronics.
He was the son of Wayne Dotson and Doris (Hedrick) Dotson of North Platte, NE.
He is also survived by his wife Marie S. Dotson and they were married for 29 years.
He was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in North Platte and he served with the US Army during the Vietnam Era.
Survivors: One Daughter, Aimee S. Dotson of Tamaqua, Pa.
One Son, Aaron D. Dotson of Tamaqua, Pa.

Obit: Eleanor Evans

Mrs. Eleanor M. (Edmonds) Evans, age 85, of 108 East Bertsch Street Lansford, Pa., died Wednesday, September 6, 2006, in her home.

Eleanor was a 1938 Lansford High School graduate. She retired from The Carbon County Vocational Technical School as Business Manager in 1982, and previously served in the Business Office for the former Brights Dept. store of Lansford, Pa. Eleanor worshiped at the English Congregational Church of Lansford, Pa., and maintained memberships in the St. David's & Schuylkill/Carbon Welsh Societies.

She was the daughter of the late Herbert Edmonds and Lillian (Greasing) Edmonds.

Preceded in death by her Husband Mr. Hayden W. Evans on March 11, 1984; and by her Daughter Mrs. Linda Murphy who died in 1994. Deceased Sister-Mrs. Ruth Bozis-Snyder, Deceased Brother-Russel Edmonds

Grandsons James Matthew Murphy and Scott Hayden Murphy survive her along with nieces and Nephews.
